The Dream That Showed Me How Much I’ve Changed
I fell asleep thinking about the things I was ready to let go of.
I was quickly transported into dreams filled with a certain type of person and one message that kept appearing:
Wolves in sheep’s clothing.
The people in the dream were people I know to be unkind. The ones who talk badly about others. The ones who have hurt people. The ones who have hurt me.
The dream was all about reconnecting with them.
I found it odd that after falling asleep feeling ready to break the ties that had kept me small… I woke up questioning whether I wanted to.
Whether this was the right path.
Whether letting go would do more harm than good.
I could have let those thoughts spiral. I could have spent the entire day reinforcing old fears and falling back into patterns I didn’t even realize I was still carrying.
Instead…
I got curious.
What would I actually do in those situations today?
How did I really feel about reconnecting with those people?
Who am I now?
Peace washed over me.
I realized something.
I’m still the same person I’ve always been.
I’ll always try to help.
I’ll always try to shine a little light.
I’ll always believe people are capable of growth.
But I no longer abandon myself in the process.
I no longer lower my standards to keep the peace.
I no longer mistake compassion for permission.
That was the difference.
The dream wasn’t showing me my future.
It was showing me how much I’ve changed.
And that’s one of the reasons I love what I do so much.
Sometimes all we need is a conversation.
The right questions.
The right connections.
The willingness to look a little deeper.
Because sometimes nothing about our circumstances changes…
Only our perspective.
And suddenly the past has less power.
The present becomes clearer.
And the future doesn’t feel nearly as heavy.
If you’ve been carrying something that feels difficult to untangle on your own, I’d love to have that conversation with you.
Thank you so much for being here.
And remember – nothing meant for you will miss you.

Reflection Question: Have you ever looked back at an old fear and realized it no longer had the same hold on you? What helped you recognize how much you’ve changed?
