There Is Room for All of Us

One of the things I hope you understand if you spend any amount of time here is this:

If something I say resonates with you…

Take it.

Seriously.

Think about it.

Question it.

Build on it.

Share it in your own words.

Let it become part of the way you see the world.

Because that’s how ideas are meant to travel.

You’ll have conversations with people I’ll never meet.

You’ll have experiences I’ll never have. And even when they’re similar, they’ll still be uniquely yours.

You have a voice that will reach people who might never hear mine.

So if something I share helps you find language for something you’ve been feeling…

I hope you’ll share it.

The message doesn’t belong to me.

Gatekeeping and staying small out of fear doesn’t belong in my world, and it doesn’t belong in yours.

I’ve probably heard every idea I talk about in a hundred different ways over the years.

From books.

Podcasts.

Friends.

Conversations.

Teachers.

Complete strangers whose names I can’t even remember anymore.

None of those words stayed exactly as they were.

They mixed with my own experiences.

They collided with my own questions.

They became part of my own process.

Eventually they came back out sounding like me.

That’s what learning does.

That’s what growth does.

We’re all carrying pieces of one another without even realizing it.

Some people get caught up in who said something first.

Who deserves the credit.

Who sounds too similar.

But this space isn’t about that.

This space is about helping people remember who they are.

This space is about becoming more of yourself.

Oftentimes, that will look like sharing your own takeaways – in your own voice.

Because your voice will reach people mine never will.

Those takeaways may become someone else’s breakthrough.

My hope has never been that everyone hears me.

My hope is that as many people as possible begin hearing themselves.

That is the greatest win in my book.

I want you to remember that:

Your success doesn’t take away from mine.

Mine doesn’t take away from yours.

What’s meant for me won’t miss me.

What’s meant for you won’t miss you.

There is absolutely room for all of us.

Room for all of us to create.

Room for all of us to grow.

Room for all of us to build meaningful lives doing meaningful work.

The more people sharing messages that help others come home to themselves…

The better.

We don’t rise by protecting wisdom.

We rise by passing it on.

We inspire each other.

We build each other.

We spread the love.

I truly believe that’s how all of us succeed.

  • What wisdom have you been holding back that someone else might need to hear?
  • Where have you been viewing success as something scarce instead of something abundant?
  • How could your unique voice help a message reach someone who needs it?
